Problem Note 63749: Reports and explorations are not promoted with SAS® Management Console

SAS Management Console does not promote reports and explorations. The following behaviors in SAS Management Console demonstrate this issue:

  • The Delete and Export SAS Package selections do not appear or are dimmed on the drop-down menu after you click a report or exploration object that you want to export.
  • The Copy, Rename, and Delete selections appear dimmed on the drop-down menu after right-clicking the object.
  • The Select Object to Import window does not show reports or explorations as being available to import. The issue occurs even when the SAS package file (spk), which you are importing from, does contain them.
  • The SASMCErrorLog.txt file contains the following message after you attempt to import a report or exploration:
       WARN [Thread-1] - No plugins loaded by sas.services.information.types plugin loader.
       WARN [Thread-1] - Plugin directory /plugins does not exist.


    Note: The default folder or directory location of the SASMCErrorLog.txt file depends on the operating system on which you are running SAS Management Console:
    Windows: C:\Users\your-user-ID\AppData\Roaming\SAS\SASManagementConsole\9.4

    UNIX and Linux: ~/.SASAppData/SASManagementConsole/9.4

The behaviors described above occur after you apply Hot Fix D8N001 on a computer where SAS® 9.4M6 Management Console is deployed.

Hot Fix D8N001 is a SAS Management Console 9.4M6 (TS1M6) hot fix that was available and included in orders beginning February 18, 2019, and ending February 26, 2019, at 9:00 a.m. (Eastern Time).

If you already applied Hot Fix D8N001 to a system, perform the following tasks for a workaround:

  1. Locate the existing sasmc.ini file, located in these directories:
       Windows: \Program Files\SASHOME\SASManagementConsole\9.4

       UNIX: SASHOME/SASManagementConsole/9.4

  2. Rename the file as sasmc.ini.HFD8N001.
  3. Copy the original sasmc.ini file from this location:
       Windows: \Program Files\SASHOME\SASManagementConsole\9.4\installs\
      mgmtconsole_wx6_9.4_M6_HFD8N001\SASHOME\xx\SASManagementConsole\9.4\


       UNIX: SASHOME/SASManagementConsole/9.4/installs/mgmtconsole_wx6_9.4_M6_HFD8N001/
      SASHOME/xx/SASManagementConsole/9.4/  

     

  4. Place the file in this location: 
       Windows: \Program Files\SASHOME\SASManagementConsole\9.4

       UNIX: SASHOME/SASManagementConsole/9.4
